Supervisory Skills 2.0

Good leadership is not just characterized by the ability to motivate a group toward a common goal—it’s the ability to cross over from being someone employees must follow to someone they want to follow. The Center’s Supervisory Skills 2.0 workshop will help develop and refresh your skills as a leader and offer a renewed outlook on true relational leadership. Supervisory Skills 2.0 is an interactive course that focuses on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to become effective leaders. Prerequisite: Supervisory Skills.

COURSE TOPICS INCLUDE:

  • Power of Influence. A supervisor’s ability to influence members of their team is crucial in achieving company goals. This course will aid in creating enthusiasm, drive, ambition, initiative, determination and enterprise.
  • Know Your Social Style. An employee’s history can influence attitudes, beliefs and temperaments when interacting with their team. Participants will learn their individual social style, the characteristics of each and appropriate skills for dealing with different types of people.
  • Learning Styles. To be successful in today’s fast-paced business world, a company and its leaders must adapt to the learning styles of their subordinates. This course explores various learning styles and how you can get the most out of your current on the job training programs.
  • Communication. Communication is a complex process that requires effort, attention and active listening. Break down communication barriers and learn positive verbal and non-verbal techniques to communicate more productively.
  • Crucial Accountability. Whether good or bad, knowing when and how to have tough conversations is key. Participants will not only identify when these conversations should be had; but will be given skills to lessen defensiveness and produce results.
