Good leadership is not just characterized by the ability to motivate a group toward a common goal—it’s the ability to cross over from being someone employees must follow to someone they want to follow. The Center’s 18-hour Supervisor Skills 2.0 course will further equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to become effective leaders. The participants in this interactive course will be acquainted with additional leadership skills necessary to relate to subordinates, peers and their managers in a productive and efficient manner.
Prerequisite: The Center’s Supervisor Skills (CEU Credits: 1.5) course

Power of Influence - A supervisor’s ability to influence members of their team is crucial in efficiently achieving company goals. This course will aid in creating enthusiasm, drive, ambition, initiative, determination and enterprise. Participants will explore effective and various means to increase their influence.

Know Your Social Style - Effective leaders understand an employee’s history can bring many different attitudes, beliefs and temperaments to their team. Identifying and navigating through these interpersonal differences can be challenging; an emotion-rich process that requires time and energy. Participants will learn their individual social style, characteristics of each and appropriate skills for dealing with multiple types of people.

Exploring Learning Styles - To be successful in today’s fast-paced business world, a company and its leaders must adapt to the learning styles of their subordinates. In this course, participants will explore different learning styles and use practical examples of how you can get the most out of your current on the job training programs.

Crucial Accountability - Team building and team success requires holding people accountable. Whether good or bad, knowing when and how to have tough conversations is key. Participants will not only identify when these conversations should be had; but will be given skills to lessen defensiveness and produce results.
