This training on Human Machine Interaction (HMI) will give participants the knowledge necessary for a basic understanding of the technologies used to achieve interconnectivity of process equipment and human resources. These technologies provide a resource for communication to plant associates, data collection with contextualization for use in process/product improvement, associate training, and process control. Utilization of HMI technology is critical for addressing the sources of special cause variation within the workplace, as well as providing key information for performance tracking, prioritization of issues, and problem-solving efforts.
Additionally, participants will learn how to leverage Digital Process Controls to eliminate the opportunity for associates to improperly set up equipment as well as relieving operators from task saturation by no longer requiring them to manually monitor machine and process performance. Use of digital process controls is the leveraging of technology to error-proof processes and ensure that performance is sustained.
