TAPEMASTER TOOL: Taking TapeMaster Tool to the Next Level With Targeted Training
The staff at The Center made it easy for us to complete the website project on time. We are impressed by the new image our website brings to the company and the ease of making edits on our own. We saw great improvement in the communication and leadership skills of the two team members who attended the Supervisor Skills training. They are using many of the tools learned in the course taken months ago.

Founded in 1976, TapeMaster Tool Company (tapemastercnc.com) is a family-owned precision CNC specialist. TapeMaster seeks to provide quality, consistency and value to customers in every product, building a reputation for providing outstanding CNC machining services. TapeMaster supplies to customers in a variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive, Department of Defense and tooling. TapeMaster employs 30 at their Troy, Mich., facility.
Challenge
With new ownership in 2018, TapeMaster’s leadership team was ready to focus on sales growth. As part of this goal, they identified a need to revamp their existing website so it would more accurately reflect the company’s capabilities and provide a more user-friendly experience to customers. Additionally, with a younger team of workers in the facility, they identified two recently-promoted individuals who would benefit from gaining leadership training.
Solution
TapeMaster reached out to the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (The Center) for assistance with their strategic initiatives. The Center’s website expert worked with the TapeMaster team to develop an enhanced company website, complete with detailed sections about each service capability, featured videos of CNC machining in action and a photo gallery of sample parts. These aspects also improved the company’s SEO placement, helping to support their online presence further. The TapeMaster team is confident this new, engaging and easy-to-navigate website will generate a large increase in sales leads, as intended.
Two team members recently promoted to Production Lead positions also attended The Center’s four-day Supervisor Skills course to further develop their leadership skills. Tools and strategies shared in this course will help these new leaders to be more effective, communicate better, motivate employees more efficiently and improve time management skills.
