Sara L. Sjöberg joined MMTC-North as Program Manager in May 2025, bringing with her three decades of experience in manufacturing and leadership. A Metro Detroit native with a strong automotive foundation, Sara spent the past ten years in the UK, where she deepened her expertise in ISO 9001-based quality systems and Lean methodologies across diverse sectors—including aluminum production, food-safe packaging, and aerospace.

Throughout her career, Sara has led companies to achieve new ISO and BRCGS certifications and has driven multimillion-dollar operational improvements. Her accomplishments range from reducing customer complaints and product defects at Alcoa to playing a key role in the successful £2M sale of a small business.

Now based in Indian River on the shores of Mullett Lake, Sara is delighted to be back in Michigan and surrounded by its natural beauty. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she combines global insight with a practical, hands-on approach. A proud University of Michigan alumna, she is passionate about supporting Michigan’s manufacturing community through strategic guidance and collaborative leadership.

Outside of work, Sara enjoys hiking and traveling, boating on Michigan’s lakes, and discovering new craft beers. She looks forward to contributing to MMTC’s mission of driving manufacturing excellence across the state.
