Lean Program Manager
Joining The Center in 2024, Josh leverages continuous improvement tools and leadership philosophies to help Michigan manufacturers achieve their goals and objectives. His areas of expertise lie in Lean implementation, project management, value stream mapping, and kaizen facilitation. With a solid foundation in continuous improvement and a commitment to driving operational excellence, Josh is dedicated to fostering innovation and efficiency in Michigan's manufacturing sector.
Professional Experience
Josh brings a wealth of experience from diverse industries, including both manufacturing and administrative settings. In his previous role as a Lean Coach for a life sciences research instrument manufacturer, he mentored plant leadership and supported a major Lean implementation through all components of the firm's operations. In this role, he also co-developed an immersive Lean thinking simulation and training program with more than 100 domestic and international graduates.
Josh also worked as a Business Efficiency Consultant for one of the state's largest health payers, where he directed numerous cross-functional projects, identifying performance deficiencies and implementing solutions that delivered measurable financial and operational improvements. He also facilitated collaborative efforts with leaders from various departments across the value stream from operations, sales, IT, marketing, and more, leading to substantial cost savings and operational efficiency gains.
Education & Certifications
Josh holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan College of Engineering, and he is also currently pursuing an Executive MBA through Michigan State University's Broad School of Business. Josh obtained his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt through the University of Michigan College of Engineering Integrative Systems & Design program.
