As The Center’s Food Business Development Manager, I’ve had the pleasure of touring this wonderful state. Work has taken me from coast to coast visiting destinations from Pinconning to Saint Joe’s and everywhere in between.
Let’s take a tour through Michigan’s food scene. Below are some of my favorite spots. I highly recommend them if you’re nearby this summer.
Papa Vino’s on the south side of St. Joseph is a great made from scratch Italian restaurant. The portions are huge and the Spicy Sausage Pasta has a kick to it!

When in St. Joseph I highly recommend the Ahi Tuna Salad at Schu’s Grill & Bar. It’s a huge portion that has just the right amount of dressing. Every table has a perfect view of the Silver Beach sunsets. Paired with the Lobster Bisque, you can’t go wrong.
The Lodge in South Haven is a great spot that all the locals hang out at. They are known for everything chicke

n. The White Chicken Chili has won many awards and does not disappoint.

Be careful of a scam that I fell prey to in South Haven. It’s a trick they play on the tourists. Unfortunately, it may or may not have taken four or more tries to figure this out.
When in Kawkawlin (near Pinconning), stop into North Point Grill and order the Italian Steak Sandwich. I suggest

fasting for 2-3 days before attempting this one. I also recommend being proactive and asking for extra napkins up front.

Three Blondes Brewing in South Haven is a great place for unique brews and brussel sprouts! The menu changes throughout the year, but when I was there the waitress suggested the Roasted Brussel Sprout Tacos and house fried tortilla chips. Everything on the menu looked amazing!
I did NOT try this place as I did not want to be seen going in…but I’m sure the chicken is great!
Wherever your travels may take you this year, you’re never too far from an awesome meal in Michigan! Plus, there is nothing better than supporting a local business right in our backyard.
