Growing up in the era of NASA’s Apollo space program, I was fascinated with space exploration and had my sights set on becoming an astronaut. When the creative side of my brain overtook the analytic side, astronaut as a profession ceased. But my interest in outer space remained.

It is difficult to feel ‘safe’ nowadays. Any time we leave the house, we can never really be sure of how clean and safe public spaces are, even if they claim to have practices in place. But when I am at The Center, I feel more secure knowing they prioritize safety and will continue investing in the best, most advanced disinfection methods to ensure we all feel safe.

When the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (The Center) was established in 1991, it was driven by an important mission. This mission was to work alongside Michigan manufacturers to share the expertise needed to work smarter, compete and prosper. Now, nearly 30 years later, our organization is proud to know that we have been a part of Michigan manufacturing’s growth and advancement for decades.

On Friday, Oct. 21, The Center hosted an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate a quarter century of working with Michigan manufacturers, the opening of their new facility and the unveiling of their new brand.
