Dale Wicker

Quality Program Manager

Dale Wicker is one of the Program Managers in the Quality Group of the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center,.  Dale Wicker manages and delivers training and implementation assistance to organizations in the field of Quality Improvements. Some of these projects involve assistance with implementing a Quality Management System such as ISO 9001(generic commonly used Quality System), ISO/TS 16949 (the automotive version Quality System), and AS 9100 (the aerospace/defense version) Quality System.  Dale also does training and consulting on the supporting tools of Quality Systems, such as the automotive Core Tools consisting of FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, and Root Cause Analysis or Problem Solving tools, as well as Internal Auditor training for all of the systems previously named.  

Professional Experience
Dale has over 30 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, and management positions for a variety of automotive and aerospace/defense manufacturing organizations prior to coming to The Center.  Dale has held various management and director positions in Tier 1 automotive suppliers and aerospace/defense companies such as Loral and BAE Systems. He has led companies to ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, AS 9100, and QS-9000 registration and has firsthand experience as Management Representative. Dale is also an RABQSA certified auditor and was a Certified Quality Engineer for nearly 20-years. 

Dale’s experience in automotive had him working directly with OEM’s such as Ford, Chrysler, GM, MBUSI, Nissan, BMW, VW and others as Customers. His past positions in operations and manufacturing included Quality Inspector, Quality Supervisor, Quality Engineer, Process Engineer, SPC Coordinator, Quality Assurance Manager, and Quality Director.  While working in the various industries mentioned, he had liaison responsibilities with such customers as General Motors, General Dynamics, Lockheed, GM, Ford, Chrysler, MBUSI, VW, Nissan and BMW, not to mention other Tier 1 suppliers.

Education
Dale holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from San Jose State University with an emphasis in Quality and a minor in Business.
