MOUNTAIN MACHINE LLC: Boosting Their Online Presence with Website Development

We like the new website very much, and we have noticed an increase in traffic for sure. Charlie was amazing to work with. His insight and knowledge transformed this task from one I was dreading into one of sheer joy. I would highly recommend The Center to any companies that are in need of a website. 10 stars!
-- Steve Ortner, President

Steve Ortner founded Mountain Machine LLC ( in 1999, starting with two machines operating out of his garage. Now, two decades later, Mountain Machine operates from a 35,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and development facility. Mountain Machine is a family-owned machine shop and fabrication facility capable of creating the most challenging, intricate or high-end pieces. With more than 20 years of experience, Mountain Machine has built and maintained a reputation of accepting machining and fabrication challenges, whether it’s reverse engineering a complex item or manufacturing a custom roll cage. Mountain Machine employs 16 at their Belleville, Mich., location.

Mountain Machine began making several notable investments in new equipment and needed a way to communicate this to current and potential clients. However, with no online presence or company website to leverage, Mountain Machine needed to start from scratch in order to market themselves online.

For assistance with building their online presence, Mountain Machine turned to the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (The Center). The Center’s website expert worked with Mountain Machine to develop and launch an engaging and effective site, followed by a two-day Website Development and Internet Marketing project for Mountain Machine’s President and Office Manager, who learned how to manage and enhance their web presence.

As a result of this engagement, Mountain Machine was able to establish an online presence that accurately represented their capabilities and brand. Following this project, an e-store was added to their website as well to more easily sell and market their aftermarket products. Developing this enhanced web presence has not only improved Mountain Machine’s sales, but has supported their ongoing recruitment efforts as well.
