JEDCO INC.: Understanding Aerospace Requirements With Key Training

In West Michigan, an automotive manufacturing area, Jedco needs additional training to support a typical automotive employee’s transition into an aerospace employee, where they must work with tighter tolerances and specifications. This relationship with The Center-West has supported this transition for our employees.

Challenge

Over the past five years, Jedco has grown significantly. Not only have they increased new sales, but they have added significantly more hires. Through relationships with Grand Rapids Community College, Jedco was introduced to the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center – West (The Center-West).

Solution

One type of key basic training needed for aerospace manufacturing is understanding Product Blueprints. Almost all new employees at Jedco need to complete this training. Through their relationship with The Center-West and Grand Rapids Community College, Jedco was able to train new employees on basic blueprint reading. Without this fundamental core tool to support their operations, Jedco would not be able to continue their current growth trajectory.
