DUPERON: Commitment to Continuous Improvement Leads to ISO 9001 Certification
Certification on the first audit is a big achievement and doing so with zero findings is another level of accomplishment. Working with MMTC put us on the path to be successful. They not only provided the appropriate training and preparation for the goals we wanted to accomplish, but they listened to us, answered our questions, and made themselves available throughout the process. I’m extremely proud of the time and effort the Duperon team put into developing this process – it has become the foundation and structure of our quality system.

Duperon® Corporation (www.duperon.com) is a leader in innovative preliminary liquid/solids separation systems. For more than 35 years, Duperon has provided innovative solutions for a variety of screening and solids handling applications in the water and wastewater industry. Employing 80, Duperon technologies are designed and manufactured in Saginaw, Mich.
Challenge
Duperon is committed to the principles of their Quality Management System (QMS), including customer focus, a collaborative approach to process development, and commitment to continuous improvement. To ensure their products and processes are safe, effective, and sustainable, Duperon wanted to certify their quality system to the global standard of ISO 9001:2015.
Solution
Duperon reached out to the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC) to request assistance with their operational initiatives. Under guidance from MMTC, Duperon engaged in a 10-day ISO 9001:2015 Organizational Implementation, Executive Overview for ISO 9001:2015, and Internal Auditor training. Duperon meticulously evaluated their quality system, learned the ISO 9001:2015 standards, and implemented ISO 9001:2015 throughout their facility. Duperon became ISO 9001:2015 registrar certified in July 2022, with zero findings, thus cementing the hard work, dedication, and commitment to their customers. “Gaining this certification is an important part of our efforts to grow in the industrial and international markets. The process was a great test for the reliability of the processes we have developed,” said Duperon Corporation President, Mark Turpin.
