The Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (The Center) has added two new staff members to its Research Services practice. Kathleen Hadley was named Market Research Consultant, and Haley Wadel joined as Market Research Associate. The announcement was made by Michael Coast, President of The Center.
“The Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center’s Research Services Team is dedicated to assisting Michigan manufacturers implement data-driven strategies and tactics,” said Coast. “The addition of these two new professionals will enable us to provide a greater depth of expertise while serving more clients across the state.”
In her new role, Hadley prepares custom market research reports that detail trends in target industries including market leaders, market size, geographic analysis and regulatory issues. She mines information from databases and secondary sources and develops conclusions from qualitative and quantitative data sources. Prior to joining The Center, Hadley had extensive experience conducting market research as a consultant and appraiser for commercial real estate. Additionally, she was selected as an Adams Entrepreneurial Fellow with Automation Alley where she created and managed a successful international marketing program for an entrepreneurial business education company. Hadley received her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. She also studied Economics at the University of Strasbourg, France.
Wadel offers The Center’s clients extensive knowledge of international markets in a variety of industries. She has advised clients on implementing their export strategies and has researched best fit export markets and created detailed reports outlining key statistics, industry performance, competitive landscape and operating conditions. Previously, Wadel worked for AM General Corporation where she dealt with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and the defense industry. She also worked for the U.S. Department of Commerce as an International Market Research Intern assisting small and medium-sized manufacturers in growing their business. Wadel received her Bachelor of Arts in both Economics and International Studies with a minor in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The Research Services practice area focuses on market research, competitive intelligence and supplier scouting. The Center’s other consulting services include: Growth, Operational Excellence, Leadership Development, Skill Development, Accelerating Technology, and Food Processing. Over the past year, The Center has worked with 310 clients to achieve $120 million in new sales, $279 million in retained sales, $49 million in cost savings, $144 million investments made, and 2,483 jobs created or retained.
