TECH TUESDAY: The Impact Lightweighting Will Have on Small Manufacturers

Manufacturers of transportation products - whether it be automobiles, aircraft, boats or trains - are aggressively looking for ways to lightweight their structures to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. This requires looking at alternative materials and evaluating trade-offs of weight savings versus durability and cost throughout the supply chain. This session looks at both the challenges and opportunities this faces for suppliers of durable goods and will feature representatives from Lightweight Innovations For Tomorrow (LIFT) and the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI). All attendees will be offered a tour of LIFT and IACMI.

Moderator:
Dan Radomski, Optimal Inc.

Presenters:
Gregg Peterson, Principle Materials Engineer-LIFT
Uday Vaidya, Chief Technology Officer-IACMI
Sandy Munro-Munro & Associates
