PCQI For Animal Food

PCQI For Animal Food

COMPLETE THE NEXT STEP IN YOUR FSMA IMPLEMENTATION

The Food Safety Modernization Act is changing the way we think about and approach animal food safety. With all the changes, many in the animal feed and pet food industries are uncertain about what the rule requires and how it applies to their organization.

Under the final rule issued by the FDA, animal food facilities are required to establish and implement an animal food safety system which includes an analysis of hazards and implementation of risk-based preventive controls. To do so, the rule requires a “preventive controls qualified individual” (PCQI) to develop and implement a written animal food safety plan for the facility.

PREPARE WITH THE CENTER’S PCQI FOR ANIMAL FOOD COURSE

The Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center’s PCQI for Animal Food course is recognized by the FDA as meeting the requirements to become a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual. The Center’s PCQI course prepares an individual to oversee the implementation of the facility’s Food Safety Plan in compliance with FSMA requirements. Program topics include:

  • Developing a Food Safety Plan
