Lean Program Manager

As a Lean Program Manager at The Center, Scott Chaiken guides Michigan manufacturers through their Lean and continuous improvement projects. Drawing from his expertise in process re-engineering and continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma techniques, Scott provides custom mentoring and training to support manufacturers’ strategic improvement.

Professional Experience
Scott brings with him many years’ experience providing organizational performance improvement to both commercial and defense industries. Scott founded Scott Solutions LLC to develop and execute business operations evaluations, establishing a proven record for providing business leadership and bottom-line results. Previously, Scott worked as Associate Director in the Lean Six Sigma Continuous Improvement Program Office at Kraft Foods Group Inc., where, as a Master Black Belt, he was the TPM Work-Process improvement Pillar Lead and coached line teams in their phased journeys. He has always worked to find and eliminate sources of waste in all aspects of processing, including back-office functions and IT, in addition to co-developing and delivering training to internal employees on Lean, Six Sigma and Problem Solving techniques.

Education & Certifications
Scott is a Master Black Belt and certified Lean Instructor. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the City College of New York and an MBA from Clark University. Scott has completed studies in the MIT MicroMasters Program for Supply Chain Management and competed in the 2019 Fresh Connection Global Challenge supply chain simulation and competition.
