Growth Services Program Manager

Charlie Westra is a Program Manager in The Center’s Growth Services group. He assists clients in developing and implementing online growth strategies aimed not only at increasing traffic, but relevant, interested, potential customer driven traffic that leads to a firm’s improved revenue and profit. This includes marketing plan development and evaluation, critiquing online business goals and analyzing corresponding metrics.

Charlie’s hands-on approach leads to the role of Growth Coach in joining a firm’s management and sales teams to develop a rock-solid online strategy that brings the most bang for the company’s dollar.

This includes a customized set of tools from the sales and marketing toolkit, such as website development, social media integration, e-mail campaigns, print advertising and many more.

Charlie’s philosophy of “Teaching How to Fish,” is the key to his success for clients seeking sustainable results achieved through internal resources.

Professional Experience
Before joining The Center, Charlie worked for a Southern Michigan advertising agency for six years leading the web sales division, with the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center as his primary client. Previously, Charlie worked in the Quality Department of a wire component manufacturer for nine years. Quickly taking on the duties of Quality Manager, Charlie gained skills such as Internal Auditing, Process Evaluation, Quality Documentation along with project management, corrective action and customer service. Before that, Charlie had the pleasure of holding the title of pressman, then manager of a print shop in Kalamazoo, Mich., for more than five years. He has studied both Elementary Education and Marketing.

Charlie hopes to use his education and manufacturing background combined with his customer service and project management skills to effectively drive The Center’s Growth Services department into the next decade.
